QUALIFICATION FOR SHORT TERM TRAINING PROGRAMME:
NCVT Certificate in relevant trade with experience in the same field of work or Diploma or Degree in appropriate branch of Engineering. Qualification is relax able for deputed candidates.
FACULTY:
The institute has its own faculties well trained in India & abroad Faculty having diverse experience so as to bring academic concept and skill orientation to the practical problems faced by the industrial Workforce and Technicians. Experienced industrial experts are also engaged to conduct training programmes to supplement the in-house faculties.

- A modern workshop equipped with conventional and sophisticated machineries & equipment.
- Well-equipped laboratories in the area of Metrology & Inspection, Electrical and Electronics field.
- Audio-Visual Laboratory equipped with most modern audio-visual equipment and computer.
- CNC workshop, CAD / CAM, Hydraulics and Pneumatics controls labs and Industrial automation (PLC based).
- Well-equipped Library contains latest technical books & magazines and ISI publications.
- Well-equipped welding shop / advanced welding shop.
- Well-designed modern Committee Room.
- Well-designed modern Auditorium.
- A well-designed Gymkhana for trainees.
- Free medical facility is available in NSTI Dispensary subject to availability of medicine in Govt. Medical Store. However, critical cases are referred to Govt. hospital for treatment but cost will be borne by the trainee etc.
- Playground is available for outdoor Games.
GENERAL INFORMATION OF SHORT TERM / TAILORMADE TRAINING PROGRAMME:
A. APPLICATION AND REGISTRATION
RESERVATION: - Deputed candidates will be given first priority as per DGT norms and remaining seats, if any will be allotted to the eligible private candidates with reservation for EWS / SC / ST / PH candidates as per Govt. of India rules.
- Candidates willing to join AVTS Programs are to apply in the prescribed form and deposit registration fee before starting of the programme.
- Cost of Application Form & Registration fee Rs.100/-
- Gymkhana fee ( Regular Course) Rs.10/- (to be paid by cash only)
- Gymkhana fee ( Tailor Made Course) Rs. 15/- (to be paid by cash only)
B. SCHEDULE OF FEES
1) Tuition fees for Regular Advanced Level Courses:
- Candidates nominated by Govt. department such as Defense, Railways etc. @ Rs. 1250/- per trainee per week.
- Candidates sponsored from medium and large-scale industries both public and private sector @Rs. 2000/- per trainee per week.
- Candidates sponsored from educational institute, Polytechnics, Engineering Colleges and other related Technical Institutions, etc. @Rs. 1000/- per trainee per week.
- Candidates sponsored by small-scale industries and private candidate @Rs. 1000/- per trainee per week.
- Shoe is compulsory to enter into the workshop of this institute.
2) Tailor-made Advanced Level Courses:
- Candidates sponsored by Govt. Deptt. @Rs. 2500/- per trainee per week.
- Candidates sponsored by Medium and large scale industries in both public and private sector @Rs. 4000/- per trainee per week.
- Candidates sponsored from educational institute, Polytechnics, Engineering Colleges and other related Technical Institutions, etc. @Rs. 2000/- per trainee per week.
- Shoe is compulsory to enter into the workshop of this institute.
3) (a) Hostel facilities: Modest hostel accommodation is available on first come first serve basis at the rates stated below. Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian Canteens are run by the trainees themselves.
(b) Hostel seat rent: Rs. 100/- per day per person for short-term course (up to 12 weeks). No family accommodation is / will be provided for any participants. Ladies accommodation is available for lady participants.
(c) Industrial Tour: The participants should be prepared to go on industrial tour at their own cost if deemed necessary by the institute.
(d) Certification: Certificates will be awarded to the trainees on successful completion of the course with minimum 80 % of attendance.
(e) Methodology: Theoretical lectures, Demonstration and practice on sophisticated tools and equipment, discussion, shop talks, use of A.V. Aids, case study, visit etc.
(f) Training timings: Weekdays: 9.30 hrs. to 17.00 hrs. With 30 mines Lunch Break (from Monday to Friday) – 05 days in a week.
(g) Relieving of participants: By 17.00 hrs (AN) on last working day of the week as per training schedule.
All the trainees and the sponsoring institutions are required to remit the tuition fees and hostel rent by Demand Draft in favour of the “DDO, RDSDE, KOLKATA” or by cash at the time of admission. Gymkhana fee is to be paid separately by cash.
