The duration of crafts instructor training is one year (Annual Pattern).

Start of session: 1st August of every year.
SELECTION : Admission is done through All India Common Entrance Test which is conducted centrally by DGT HQ.
Entrance Examination Fees – Rs. 1000/- for All Categories.
Eligibility for Admission
NTC/NAC (NCVT certificate in relevant trade) or Diploma / Degree from a recognized Board of Technical Education/University or equivalent. The candidates undergoing training under Craftsmen Training Scheme (CTS) who are going to appear in final exam of All India Trade Test (AITT) during July’ 2020, may also be considered for appearing in the AICET but their final admission in CITS courses will be subjected to successful completion of their training under CTS. If they fail in CTS final examination, they will not be allowed to continue the CITS courses and fee deposited is non-refundable. The candidates who are going to appear in final semester of Degree/ Diploma during July’ 2020, may also be considered for appearing in the AICET but their final admission in CITS courses will be subjected to successful completion of their Degree/Diploma.If they fail in Degree/Diploma final examination,they will not be allowed to continue the CITS courses and fee deposited is non-refundable.
Age limit : Minimum 18 years, No upper age limit
Admission & Award of Certificate
Candidates can enroll for the above programmes for one year.
A candidate has to secure 60 % Sessional marks in Theory and Practicals and also have a minimum of 70 % attendance. On possessing the above requisites, candidates will be allowed to appear for the final examination conducted by NCVT, New Delhi in June / July every year. On passing the prescribed exam, trainees will be awarded the Instructor training Certificate from NCVT.
Hostel : Hostel facilities are available for trainees on payment of Rs. 100/- per month as hostel rent and Rs. 50/- as Hostel service charge. Hostel Caution money Rs. 125/- per session(Refundable) are also to be deposited for availing hostel. Separate hostel facilities are available for ladies. Messing charges extra to be borne by the candidates.
Medical Facilities : Free medical facility is available in NSTI Dispensary subject to availability of medicine in Govt. Medical Store. However, critical cases are referred to Govt. hospital for treatment but cost will be borne by the trainee.
Sports & Games: Playground is available for outdoor Games.
Working Hours: From 09.00 am to 5.30 pm with half hour lunch break on all working days(Monday to Friday).
Attendance : Minimum 70% attendance is required to appear in the Final Trade Test to be held at the end of the course.
